…Something is missing in my life?

Do you feel like there is a void in your heart?

Have you ever wondered, “Is there a God?” or “Why do I exist?”

God created every man and woman with a God-shaped void in their heart. All of us have tried to fill this void in many different ways:   money, prestige, possessions, power, and even with people.  However, none of these things will ever really satisfy us. The only thing that can truly fill this void is a vital relationship with God.  His amazing love for us compels us to love Him back.

…I don’t feel like I have a purpose in life?

Have you ever asked yourself, “Why I am here and what is my purpose?”

Purpose, meaning, a reason for living—these are all things each of us desire and search for.  We each have an emptiness in our lives, and regardless of how hard we try, nothing we do can fill the void in a lasting way.

…If there is a God, can I have a relationship with Him?

By inviting Jesus Christ into your life and receiving the forgiveness that God offers you can fill the void, find your purpose and have a relationship with your creator.

You may be asking; where do I start? Having a relationship with God must begin with a sincere desire to know Him and simply follow the basic steps listed below.

Admit:  Admit you have sinned and that your sin has separated you from God. Confess that that you need God in your life and only He can offer you forgiveness.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”

Repent:  Repentance is agreeing with God about what He calls sin in your life and turning away from it. It means you no longer follow your ways but follow God’s path for life.

Acts 3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord

Believe:  That Jesus is who He said He was and trust that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and on the third day He rose from the dead.

Romans 10:9-10 - That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Ask: Through prayer, admit your sins have separated you from God and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. Thank Him for dying for you and ask Him come into your life and send His Holy Spirit to teach and guide you.

Proclaim: In utter amazement and gratitude we should be compelled to proclaim the saving grace we found through Jesus’ sacrifice.

Jesus said that if we acknowledge Him before men, He will acknowledge us before His Father in heaven (Matthew 10:32). When you consider all Jesus has done for you it should only be natural that we would want to tell someone about Him!

Are you ready to begin your new life today?

If you would like to invite Jesus into your life and receive the forgiveness and newness of life He offers, talk to God with a sincere heart. You may want to use the following prayer as a guideline:

Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need your forgiveness. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, and that you were raised on the third day. Forgive me of my sins and fill this void in my heart with yourself. I want you to be the Savior and Lord of my life.

The next question is almost as important as the first.

That question is:   “What should I do next?”

Find God’s plan for you

  • Know His Will

What is the best way to learn God’s specific plan for me? It can be found in His word. Jesus said “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life. You can only know His way, truth, and life by reading His word.

  • Follow His Way

You will certainly wonder, how do I decide what is right and what is wrong? Simply put, we should do everything to bring Glory to God.  (I Cor. 10:31). Should you have this habit, partake of this entertainment, accept this job, marry this person, take this trip?   Name it - you can settle it by answering the question: Is it for the glory of God?

  • Where Do I Go?

You will find His word to be the greatest source of direction but God also established His church just for you. In His church you will find a place to worship, a place for fellowship, a place for service, and a place for you to live out God’s perfect plan for you. (Hebrews 10:25) We would love for you to visit with us at Shenandoah but more importantly we want you in a good Bible believing church where you will hear His word and know His will. We are here to help you find out where God wants you to worship and serve.  Just ask how we can help!
