The mission field is much closer than you think.  Many from Shenandoah have served around the world with short-term mission teams, encouragement visits and long-term missionary servants.  Shenandoah prepares, equips and trains young and old to fulfill the biblical command to "Go!"  Pray about your involvement in Short-Term Missions.

Plans are now underway for 2025 short-term missions opportunities. Stay tuned to learn where we will be heading and be praying about your participation!

Team Expansion in Thailand

Shenandoah is seeking to expand its team in Kabinburi, Thailand. In 2015 the Hope Home for Girls was opened. The home currently houses eleven girls ages 5-18. The home operates in partnership with Compassionate Hope Foundation which is a ministry focused on providing hope and a future to victims and potential victims of human trafficking and religious persecution in Southeast Asia.

Currently, SBC Missionary Liz Stevens is running the home with the assistance of Nom, a national believer. For the ministry to remain viable and sustainable, additional team members are needed.

The Village of Hope consists of a Hope Home (or homes), a school, and a business to support the ministry. All of these entities operate under the umbrella of a church which is the central focus of the Village of Hope. Shenandoah is currently seeking deeply burdened servants to join a team to expand the current Hope Home into a full Village of Hope.

In conjunction with the Compassionate Hope Foundation, the Missions Leadership Team of Shenandoah Baptist Church is seeking the following individuals to oversee a church planting team in Kabinburi, Thailand:

  1. Church Planting Pastor - the pastor for the church to be planted in Kabinburi must be a man who meets the biblical qualifications for a pastor, is called by God to cross-cultural ministry, fulfills all the requirements as set out by the Missions Leadership Team including a missions internship and agreement with Shenandoah’s Statement of Faith.

  2. Mentor - A mentor is a single lady who will serve to help disciple the girls at the Hope Home. She will model the Christ-life and support the church planting team through active evangelism and discipleship. She would likely be involved in teaching English in the public school system and assisting in other aspects of the new church plant. She must also be called by God to cross-cultural ministry, and fulfill all requirements as set out by the Missions Leadership Team including a mission internship and agreement with Shenandoah’s Statement of Faith.

  3. Intern - Shenandoah is seeking to send two qualified young ladies, age 21 or older, to assist at the Hope Home on a one-year “extended stay” basis.

The opportunity would be to serve as a home manager, overseeing the daily running of the home. This would include meal planning and preparation, overseeing the cleanliness and organization of the home, and investing daily in the lives of the children. We are looking for someone who loves kids and teens and has a vibrant and growing relationship with God, someone who is willing to learn and adjust to a new culture, someone who is teachable and wants to be part of a team. A person with good communication skills.

Travel costs, room & board, medical insurance, and a small living stipend will be provided. Completed application and Missions Leadership Team approval required.
