What is it?

The Global Missions Advance (GMA) is a week-long event on the Island of Malta in April 2017 which seeks to gather together the missions staff of Shenandoah Baptist Church along with at least 100 members of Shenandoah. The four-fold goal of the GMA is to:

Enhance - The GMA is designed to enhance our missions staff’s effectiveness and fruitfulness on the field by:

• Providing sessions where missions staff will hear messages from God’s Word from SBC pastors

• Providing networking opportunities among missions staff

• Providing a venue for missions staff to bring a national believer to be exposed to the work of world missions

The GMA is designed to enhance our church’s effectiveness in missions sending by:

• Increasing our capacity in each of the aspects of Knowing, Praying, Giving, Going & Caring

• Providing a distraction-free time of concentrated ministry with and for our missions staff

Encourage

Our missions staff will be encouraged by having a week off the field with their families to be around other believers.

Our church members will be encouraged by getting to know our missions staff on a deeper level away from the distractions of life at home.

Equip

• Our missions staff will hear from SBC pastors and hear the heartbeat of what God is doing at our church. They will leave with tools to continue in the work God has called them to.

• Our church members will be better able to understand the needs of our missions staff and give them tools to support them in the work God has called them to.

Expose

• Our missions staff will be exposed to other works around the world as well as an intensive time of interaction with SBC members.

• Our church members will be exposed to a different culture and have an opportunity to interact with our missions staff away from their home turf.
