Children’s Ministry Director
Shenandoah Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Children’s Ministry Director who has a heart for the gospel, a love for children, and a passion for partnering with families to disciple the next generation.
Position Summary
The Children’s Ministry Director provides leadership and oversight for all children’s ministries (birth–5th grade). This role exists to glorify God by nurturing children in their walk with Christ, supporting parents, equipping volunteers, and reaching families in the Greater Roanoke Valley.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, plan, and evaluate all children’s ministry programs, including nursery, LifeGroups, Beginners Church, Awana, summer programs, and special events
Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers and paid workers
Ensure safe, clean, and welcoming ministry environments
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
Oversee curriculum, supplies, calendars, and budgets
Coordinate with other church ministries and Roanoke Valley Christian Schools
Provide care and biblical guidance to children, parents, and volunteers
Teach chapel for RVCS (as needed)
Qualifications
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing walk with Him
A strong calling to children’s ministry
Agreement with the Statement of Faith and the ministry philosophy of Shenandoah Baptist Church
Demonstrated character, integrity, and spiritual maturity
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
A genuine love for children and families
