The Frenchak Family
Ben and Candace have been happily married for over 28 years and have three boys, Zachary, Elijah, and Josiah. As you can imagine, with three young men in the house, our home is active, exciting, and often boisterous. Whether it is family game night, sleeping under the stars at a national park somewhere, or worshipping Jesus, the Frenchaks value family time.
Ben has been in education for 28 years and recently earned his doctorate in educational leadership from Liberty University. He is excited about inspiring the next generation to love and serve Jesus, while connecting them to the truth of the gospel. Ben has also enjoyed coaching soccer, leading worship, and sharing the gospel around the world. Candace has served alongside Ben and continues to work in the classroom as a teacher’s aide. Her love for her students is apparent as she daily shares her gifts of encouragement and patience while guiding young hearts to know the heart of the Heavenly Father.
Zachary is currently a freshman in college studying Cybersecurity. He enjoys playing drums, drinking Dr. Pepper, and challenging cultural norms. Elijah is a sophomore in high school and can be seen playing trumpet, acting on stage, hanging off a bouldering course, or swimming laps in the pool. He is actively involved in the church, leading the children’s choir, singing, and preparing for the next dramatic performance. Josiah is finishing middle school and is the soccer player of the family. He loves his music, enjoys practicing his entrepreneurial skills, creating works of art out of nothing, and making new friends.
Ben has served in both private and public education. Having been a high school band director, a varsity soccer coach, and a Head of School, God has allowed him diverse and exciting experiences that continue to shape his steps and draw him closer to the Savior. Currently, Ben serves as a middle school principal at Immanuel Christian School in Springfield, Virginia.
The Associate Pastor for School Ministries (RVCS) Approval
Pursuant to the By-Laws of Shenandoah Baptist Church, the membership of the church has fifteen days to present approval and/or disapproval testimonies to the Elders with regard to a prospective Associate Pastor candidate. Following this process, the Elders may appoint the prospective Associate Pastor candidate by unanimous consent of the Elders.
The Elders of Shenandoah Baptist Church are charged with the human oversight of the church. They supervise every aspect of the church’s ministry, including adherence to biblical integrity, organizational structure, financial accountability, Christ-honoring behavior, and ministry effectiveness.
The Associate Pastor for School Ministries (RVCS), a ministry of Shenandoah Baptist Church, must meet the biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 (see below). He must be a man who is above reproach in his personal, family, church, business, civic, and social life and who adheres to Shenandoah’s Statement of Faith.
Having conducted an extensive inquiry into his biblical qualifications and gifts in ministry, the Elders now present Dr. Ben Frenchak for the purpose of member evaluation of the biblical qualifications for service as Associate Pastor for School Ministries (RVCS). Members of the church are asked to state their approval or disapproval by marking below. Any church member having a reason to disapprove of Dr. Ben Frenchak’s appointment should check the appropriate space below and then privately share the reason for disapproval with an Elder.
1 Timothy 3:1-7 (ESV)
1 The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. 2 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, 5 for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.
Titus 1:5-9 (ESV)
1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began 3 and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior; 4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. 5 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you—
Any anonymous disapproval will be disregarded. Responses must be received in the Church Office by Sunday, March 1, 2026.
